أعلن مكتب الجوائز بالجامعة عن فتح باب الترشح لجائزة عبد الحميد شومان في دورتها 42 للعام 2024 ، وهي أوّل جائزة عربيّة تعنى بالبحث العلمي وتحتفي بالباحثين العرب؛ والتي قد أطلقتها مؤسّسة عبد الحميد شومان؛ سعيًا منها لدعم البحث العلمي وتشجيعه في الوطن العربيّ، والمشاركة في إعداد وإلهام جيلٍ من الباحثين والخبراء والاختصاصيين العرب في الميادين العلمية المختلفة.
تُمنَح الجائزة تقديرًا لنتاج علمي متميّز يؤدي نشره وتعميمه إلى زيادة المعرفة العلمية والتطبيقية، والإسهام في حل المشكلات ذات الأولوية محليًا وإقليميًا وعالميًا، ونشر ثقافة البحث العلمي. وذلك ضمن ستة حقول أساسية، وتحدّد الهيئة العلمية للجائزة سنويًا موضوعين يندرجان تحت كل حقل. وخلال مسيرتها الممتدة لـ 42 عامًا استطاعت جائزة عبد الحميد شومان للباحثين العرب أن تتمتع بموضوعيةٍ ومصداقيةٍ لدى الباحثين العرب، وسمعة طيبة في الأوساط الأكاديمية العربيّة.
تبلغ قيمة الجائزة 20 ألف دولار تمنح لكل فائزٍ وفائزة.

Announcing the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award in its 42nd session in 2024
The university’s Awards Office announced the opening of nominations for the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award in its 42nd session in 2024, which is the first Arab award concerned with scientific research and celebrates Arab researchers. Which was launched by the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation; to support and encourage scientific research in the Arab world, and to participate in preparing and inspiring a generation of Arab researchers, experts, and specialists in various scientific fields.
The award is granted in recognition of a distinguished scientific production whose publication and dissemination lead to increasing scientific and applied knowledge, contributing to solving priority problems locally, regionally, and globally, and spreading the culture of scientific research, within six basic fields. The scientific body of the award annually determines two topics that fall under each field.
During its 42-year history, the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Arab Researchers was able to enjoy objectivity and credibility among Arab researchers and a good reputation in Arab academic circles.
The award value is $20,000, given to each male and female winner.
