اعلن ا.د محمود المتيني رئيس جامعة عين شمس أنه سيتم افتتاح متحف قصر الزعفران بجامعة عين شمس يوم الثلاثاء القادم الموافق ٩ مايو
موضحا أن قصر الزعفران يجب أن يحظى بمكانته التراثية التي يستحقها، وأن يقدم لزائريه في صورة متحفية تراثية تُعرف بحقيقة القصر، بل وأن يحظى بمتحف تعليمي لأبناء الجامعة من الطلاب وأعضاء هيئة تدريس والعاملين وغيرهم من زائري جامعة عين شمس، مشيرا أنه قد وقع الإختيار على بدروم القصر ليكون متحفًا لعرض قطع أثرية حقيقية كجزء من الدور التعليمي للجامعة مع ربط المتحف بقصر الزعفران وقصته، حيث قام فريق عمل متميز بوضع تصور للمتحف طبقًا لأحدث أساليب العرض المتحفي بمجموعة آثار متميزة.
واوضح ا.د ممدوح الدماطي استاذ علم المصريات ووزير الآثار الاسبق وعميد كلية الاثار السابق أن المتحف يضم مجموعة متميزة من المعروضات منها واجهة بوابة مقصورة الأمير نب ماعت رع بن الملك رمسيس التاسع (1125-1107 ق.م)، وكان يشغل منصب كبير كهنة الشمس (ور ماو) في معبد رع في إيونو.

Prof. Mahmoud El-Meteini, President of Ain Shams University, declared that the Zaffran Palace Museum at Ain Shams University will be opened next Tuesday , corresponding to May 9, explaining that the Zaffran Palace must have the heritage status it deserves and that it be presented to its visitors in the form of a heritage museum known as the reality of the palace, and even have an educational museum. For the university’s students, faculty staff, workers, and other visitors to Ain Shams University, indicating that the basement of the palace was chosen to be a museum to display real artifacts as part of the university’s educational role while linking the museum to the Zaffran Palace and its story, where a distinguished work team developed a vision for the museum According to the latest museum display methods, with a distinguished collection of antiquities.
